Hastoo, a talented female artisan living in Mithi, Tharparkar became aa client of a PMIC funded Microfinance Institution- Thardeep Microfinance Foundation (TMF) 10 years ago. Following the untimely death of her husband, she faced the unfamiliar task of financially supporting her family. With a loan from TMF, Hastoo started her own business of producing and selling traditional handicrafts particularly ‘Sindhi’ caps. From the first loan amount that she recieved, she purchased raw materials to make the ‘Sindhi’ caps and her business took off to a good start. A decade later, she now intends to expand her business by setting up her own grocery store in addition to her handcrafts business.
